The movie "Guiana
1838" is definitely in the making now that Indian film
star, Kumar Gaurav and a crew arrived in Guyana yesterday
morning.

President Bharrat Jagdeo. Singh will also be apart of
"Guiana 1838".
Gaurav,
who is known as the `Chocolate Hero' of the eighties,
appeared to be very calm despite a hectic schedule of making
three films before August. Gaurav, who is from Bombay, India
is now headed for Berbice for the continuation of the
feature film, "Guiana 1838".
According to the director and the producer, Rohit
Jagessar, the film will focus on the abolition of slavery
and the arrival of Indians in Guyana during the 19th
century. Gaurav said that the atmosphere in Guyana is very
good so far and he is excited to be here. He spoke to
Stabroek News briefly yesterday morning after his meeting
with President Bharrat Jagdeo.
Gaurav has been acting for over 20 years now and so far
he has played parts in 35 movies, his favourite being "Naam".
Gaurav will be in Guyana for the next six weeks. Some 150
persons from Guyana will be acting in the movie and the
entire film will have a total of 365 actors and actresses
from England, the US and India. Bollywood star, Aarti
Bathija is also in the film.
Kumar Gaurav is the son of Rajendra Kumar. He is also the
star of Bollywood blockbusters, "Love Story" and
"Teri Kasam". Filming in Guyana will be completed
on April 30 and then the cast will go to England to finish.
Gaurav is married and the father of two children. To
upcoming actors and actress, Gaurav advised that "you
should work hard, get into the character and believe in
yourself".
